Indonesian AHF: HIV/AIDS Already In Front of The Eyes, They're Close

"The commemoration of World AIDS Day 2017 is expected not jut only ceremonial. There needs to concrete steps to prevent and cope with HIV/AIDS, because HIV/AIDS is in sight, no longer in the clouds," said Riki Febrian, Country Program Manager of Indonesian AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF)  in his speech to the participants.

According to him, AIDS Healthcare Foundation Indonesia supports the World AIDS Day in 2017 with a motto "Keep The Promise".This is done to re-vocate the importance of various parties to hold firm promises to seriously overcome HIV/AIDS.

"For example, currently all districts reported the findings of HIV/AIDS case in West Java," he said.

Vice-regent, Dadan Koswara welcomes the activities conducted by Indonesia AIDS Healthcare Foundation with his partners. He said that he will continue to strive for prevention and prevention of HIV/AIDS disease for Purwakarta residents to stay healthy.

Meanwhile, Hasanudin as a manager of Resik Foundation Program who became a partner as a chief of the organizing committee of World AIDS Day 2017 in Purwakarta explained, one of the important activities in commemoration of World AIDS Day this time is the service of HIV disease test for the visitors.Recorded 827 people took the HIV test and interim results showed 12 of them were HIV positive.

"There are 5 booths we provide to serve HIV testing involving medical personnel from 20 health centers and one hospital," he said.

Furthermore Hasanudin explained, HIV testing has many benefits, such as if it was infected with HIV, can take the necessary steps to stay healthy.

"In addition, we can also prevent the spread of HIV to others, for example by not having risky sexual intercourse, "he added.

This theme is taken with the aim of raising awareness and awareness of the whole community on HIV/AIDS issues by conducting HIV testing and continuing with antiretroviral treatment if diagnosed with HIV as early as possible.
